The Beach<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bantham Beach<\/a>, with its iconic view of Burgh Island<\/a>, is a traditional \u2018bucket and spade\u2019 family holiday destination, and also the most popular beach on the south Devon coast for surfing and kite-surfing, and perfect for many other activities including walking, swimming, rock pooling, body boarding, stand up paddle boarding, windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking and fishing.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n

Lifeguards are on duty at the beach every day from May to October between 10am and 6pm. Due to its location on a tidal estuary, there are dangerous currents at Bantham, particularly at the mouth of the River Avon, and visitors are advised to take heed of the flags designating areas safe for bathing.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n

In the beach car park you will also find The Gastrobus<\/a> selling drinks, ice cream and homemade food every day from 1 March until the end of October, weather permitting. It is also there during most weekends in the off season.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n

\"surf-achademy\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Bantham Surfing Academy<\/a> operates a surf school on the beach while anyone interested in kite-surfing tuition can contact the South Devon Kitesurf Club<\/a>.
